New Steam hardwares officially announced!

Valve has officially expanded its hardware lineup, announcing three new devices designed to unify how players experience their Steam libraries. The reveal includes the Steam Frame, Steam Machine, and a redesigned Steam Controller, all optimized for gaming on Steam, no matter the platform.

Leading the charge is Steam Frame, a lightweight wireless VR headset powered by SteamOS 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device supports both streaming and stand-alone play, meaning users can play VR and non-VR titles without a PC connection. With up to 1 TB of storage, 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM, and features like Foveated Streaming and magnetic thumbsticks, Steam Frame aims to deliver premium VR without cables or setup hassles. Titles such as Moss: Book II, Thief: Legacy of Shadow, and No Man’s Sky were showcased to demonstrate its capabilities.

Next in line, Valve is bringing back the Steam Machine; a compact living-room console built for plug-and-play SteamOS gaming. It’s designed to sit beside your TV, offering quick access to your entire library much like a next-gen console.

Finally, the new Steam Controller features full-size magnetic thumbsticks, haptic feedback, and capacitive finger tracking for more natural control. It works seamlessly across Steam Deck, Steam Machine, and Steam Frame, unifying the hardware ecosystem.

According to Valve, the Steam Hardware family will officially expand in early 2026, continuing the company’s mission to make Steam accessible anywhere, from handheld to VR.

Together, the Steam Frame, Steam Machine, and Steam Controller mark the next evolution of Valve’s hardware vision; a unified ecosystem where every way you play, from handhelds to full VR, is powered by Steam.
