About this setup

Two years of slow, deliberate edits to land on something warm and quiet. The whole desk is built around a single 42″ OLED on an arm so the walnut top stays clear — everything else is chosen to disappear: a low-profile board, a soft bias light, and cables channelled through the back of the desk. It's a gaming-first rig that still reads as a calm place to work.

The restraint here is the whole point. One monitor, one light, a board that barely clears the desk — and somehow it still handles a 5080 without looking like a server room. The walnut grounds all of it. Easily my favourite battlestation on here this year.

That walnut top is doing a lot of heavy lifting — where did you source it, and is it a full slab or veneer?

Full slab, not veneer — a local mill cut it to size and I finished it with three coats of hardwax oil. Cables run through a channel routed into the underside so the top stays totally clean.

Considering the same 42″ C4 — how does it hold up for fast shooters at desk distance? Any smearing or eye strain in long sessions?

Copied the ScreenBar + monitor-arm combo after seeing this. Desk feels twice as big now — thank you.
