Nintendo has revealed a brand-new gameplay trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time as part of the series’ 40th Anniversary celebrations. The new footage offers the clearest look yet at the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version, showing redesigned environments, updated gameplay and several changes aimed at modernizing the classic adventure.
The game is scheduled to launch on November 5, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo has rebuilt the visuals from the ground up, while also making changes to movement, camera controls, performance and presentation.
One of the most noticeable gameplay additions is a dedicated jump button, giving Link more direct control over his movement. The camera can also be freely adjusted with the right stick, making exploration and combat feel considerably different from the original Nintendo 64 release.
The remake also expands the presentation of Hyrule. Familiar locations have been recreated with significantly more detail, while characters now have expanded dialogue and voiced scenes. The day-and-night cycle has also been reworked so that time continues to pass even when Link is inside certain areas.
Nintendo is introducing a new Threads of Time feature as well, which allows players to keep track of their progress and see what objectives they should focus on next. Music has also received an overhaul with new orchestral arrangements, while the game makes use of the Switch 2 hardware for additional interaction with Link’s ocarina melodies.

The first extended gameplay footage has generated a large reaction from the Zelda community. A significant number of players have praised the redesigned environments, especially the increased detail in areas such as Hyrule Castle Town and the Great Deku Tree.
