According to the official developer breakdown, Hurricane isn’t just a visual weather effect. Powerful winds will actively influence player movement. Running with the wind can give you a boost, while pushing against it will drain stamina faster. In a game where every second and every step matter during extraction, that shift alone can change tactical decisions on the fly.
Projectile behavior will also be affected. Throwables like grenades won’t follow their usual paths, forcing players to adapt to altered trajectories mid-fight. Reduced visibility under heavy storm clouds adds another layer of tension, limiting sightlines and making encounters more chaotic.
The storm brings environmental danger as well. Debris caught in the wind can strike Raiders and gradually wear down shields, increasing vulnerability during already high-risk engagements. What was once reliable cover may suddenly feel fragile.
Interestingly, the Hurricane condition isn’t purely a threat. The developers note that powerful winds may reveal First Wave Caches, valuable loot opportunities exposed by the storm’s force. For daring players, the chaos could become a calculated risk-reward scenario rather than just a survival challenge.
The Hurricane map condition arrives as part of the broader Shrouded Sky update, launching on February 24, 2026, and adds another dynamic variable to ARC Raiders’ evolving extraction experience. Instead of memorizing the map and sticking to routine strategies, Raiders will now have to read the sky and decide whether to fight the storm or use it to their advantage.
