007 First Light’s latest reveal may disappoint some players

007 First Light reportedly will not feature a New Game Plus option when it launches. While the game is expected to encourage replayability in other ways, players apparently won’t be able to restart the campaign with previously unlocked gear or progress from the beginning.

The upcoming title from IO Interactive is being built around freedom of approach, allowing players to complete missions using stealth, gadgets, social manipulation, or direct combat. Because of this mission structure, many players assumed a New Game Plus mode would naturally be included at release.

Even without the feature, the game is still designed to be replayed multiple times. Different mission outcomes, alternative paths, and various gameplay styles are expected to be a major part of the experience, giving players reasons to revisit missions in different ways.

At the moment, there’s no indication that the mode has been canceled permanently. The developers have not ruled out the possibility of adding it later through a future update or expansion, but nothing official has been announced yet.

The game is currently scheduled to release in May 2026 for current-generation platforms and PC, with more gameplay details expected closer to launch.

So, do you think New Game Plus is necessary for a Bond game like this, or is mission replayability enough on its own?
