Reach Chapter 9 First
Before you can access these rewards:
- Complete most of Chapter 8
- Progress into Chapter 9
- Start the quest tied to Finn Plate Crossing Point
This quest eventually leads you toward the Spire of the Sun.
Enter the Spire of the Sun
Travel to:
- The Forebears Barrens
- Locate the Spire of the Sun
When you arrive, the entrance will initially be sealed.
To open it, you must complete a large mirror-light puzzle outside the structure.
Solve the mirror puzzle
The puzzle revolves around:
- Moving mirrors
- Redirecting beams of light
- Activating crystals connected to the tower

- Unlock stair sections one by one
You’ll repeat this process multiple times while climbing higher through the structure.
Eventually, the final crystal activates the last staircase.
Prepare for the boss fight
Before entering the final area:
- Unlock the nearby fast travel point
- Create a manual save if possible
The upcoming boss is one of the tougher encounters in the game.
Defeat the boss
The enemy:
- Uses aggressive melee attacks
- Has high damage output
- Feels similar to fighting an alternate version of yourself
While difficult, defeating the boss rewards several powerful items.

After winning the fight, you’ll receive:

- Greymane’s Earring
- Access to the Greysoul Howling Abyss effect

- Find a weapon rack hidden nearby
