EA has officially acknowledged the recent Iron Man gameplay leak, confirming that the footage circulating online comes from the upcoming game developed by Motive Studio. The leak gives fans their first meaningful look at the project since its announcement, while also revealing several details about how the game is shaping up.
The leaked footage shows Tony Stark in action, with a strong focus on flying, combat and movement. Iron Man can be seen travelling through a large urban environment, engaging enemies from the air and continuing the fight after landing.
The footage reportedly gives a glimpse at several systems currently being developed for the game:
- Iron Man’s flight – Tony can freely move through the environment while using his suit’s propulsion systems.
- Aerial combat – Enemies can be targeted and attacked while Iron Man is flying.
- Ground combat – The gameplay also switches to more traditional combat encounters on the ground.
- Suit customization – The footage appears to feature a system for upgrading or modifying different parts of Iron Man’s armor.
- Large environments – The game appears to feature sizeable areas for Iron Man to explore, although the full scale of the world is still unknown.
- Marvel characters – Characters connected to Tony Stark, including Pepper Potts and James Rhodes, have reportedly appeared in the footage.
The footage itself is clearly from a development build. Some elements appear unfinished, meaning what players have seen should not be considered a final representation of the game. Motive Studio still has time to make changes to its visuals, mechanics and other systems before release.
Following the leak, the official Marvel’s Iron Man account also responded publicly. Rather than denying the footage, the account acknowledged the situation and used it as an opportunity to tease that there is more of the game that has not yet been shown.
The account also shared a new official image of Iron Man, featuring the game’s version of Tony Stark alongside the Marvel and Motive Studio logos. This marks another official glimpse at the project and gives fans a better look at the visual direction Motive is taking with the character.
The Iron Man game was originally announced in 2022 as a single-player, third-person action-adventure. Since then, EA and Motive have kept details about the project largely private, making the leaked gameplay particularly significant.
The project is being developed as an original Iron Man experience rather than a direct adaptation of one of Marvel’s movies. Players can therefore expect a standalone story built around Tony Stark and his life as the armored superhero.
Despite confirming the leaked footage, EA has not revealed when the game will be released. The studio has also yet to provide a full official gameplay presentation, meaning there is still plenty about the project that remains unknown.
For now, the leak has given fans their first real idea of how Motive’s Iron Man could play. With the official account now acknowledging the footage and sharing a new image, the game’s eventual full reveal should provide a much clearer picture of what the studio has been building.
