The updated sales number was shared through CD Projekt RED’s latest financial results, showing that the RPG continues attracting millions of players even more than a decade after its original launch in 2015.
What makes the milestone even more impressive is that the game reportedly sold around 5 million additional copies over the past year, proving that interest in Geralt’s adventure still remains incredibly strong.
Over the years, The Witcher 3 has continued growing thanks to multiple factors, including next-gen updates, regular discounts, the popularity of Netflix’s Witcher adaptation, and the continued expansion of the overall franchise.
The timing of the announcement is also notable because CD Projekt RED recently revealed a brand-new expansion called Songs of the Past, which will bring Geralt back for another story adventure in 2027. Many fans now expect the game’s sales numbers to continue climbing once the expansion gets closer to release.
