Discord introduces its own year-end activity recap

Discord is joining the year-end recap trend with a brand-new feature called Checkpoint, a personalized summary that highlights how you used the platform throughout the year. It’s Discord’s answer to the “Wrapped”-style craze, but tailored to the habits and quirks that make the service a daily hangout for millions of players and communities.

Checkpoint gathers a wide range of activity stats; your most-used emoji, the friends you chatted with the most, how many messages you fired off, how long you spent in voice channels, and which servers claimed most of your time. It’s a snapshot of your digital social life, presented in a clean, shareable format built for comparing with friends (or quietly judging yourself).

Accessing it is simple: desktop users will find a Checkpoint badge in the top-right corner of the app, while mobile users can open the You tab and tap the spotlight banner. Once opened, Checkpoint rolls out a sequence of screens breaking down your year into fun, sometimes surprising stats.

Discord’s move isn’t exactly shocking, yearly recap features have become a cultural ritual across music platforms, social apps, and even game services. For Discord, it adds a layer of playful self-reflection on top of the platform’s already intense daily engagement. But it also sparks conversations about data: how much of our digital behavior we’re willing to see summarized, quantified, and potentially shared.

Still, for most users, Checkpoint will simply be another way to celebrate their online circles and server communities and compare who really spent the most time talking, grinding, or spamming emojis at 3AM.
