Battlefield series had struggled to make the same impact with its recent releases despite being one of the most established names in the FPS genre for years. But that has changed dramatically with the arrival of Battlefield 6. EA’s latest entry seems to have more than met player expectations.
According to shared data, Battlefield 6 surpassed 7 million sales within just three days of its release, marking the most successful launch in the franchise’s history. The game’s debut also reignited a wave of excitement throughout the community.
During the first three days, players completed 172 million matches, while streaming platforms saw over 15 million hours watched. On Steam, EA broke a historic record: over 747,000 concurrent players were online simultaneously, officially surpassing Apex Legends’ long-standing record of 624,000.

Battlefield 6’s momentum represents not only a major commercial success but also a turning point for community engagement, streaming interest, and competitive play. EA aims to sustain this momentum long-term with upcoming seasonal content.
The company is also working on updates that strengthen classic Battlefield elements such as naval and aerial combat, based on player feedback. Could this success return Battlefield to the throne of the FPS genre or is it merely a fleeting shadow over its rivals?
