Something much more concrete has appeared, and it’s buried in a place no one expected.
For years, fans have been asking Ubisoft to bring Black Flag into the modern era. The series’ shift toward RPG-style progression, expanded exploration, and reworked combat naturally fueled speculation that older Assassin’s Creed titles might eventually get full redesigns instead of simple remasters. Buried in the string is the name “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.”
Because nothing in Shadows should reference Black Flag at all, players believe this may be the internal or planned name for the remake. Ubisoft hasn’t addressed the discovery, but several past Assassin’s Creed projects have leaked through localization tables in almost the exact same way.
