Minecraft allows players to automate many resources, and iron is one of the most valuable materials in the game. Instead of mining for hours, players can create an iron farm that continuously generates iron while they focus on other projects.
Steps to build an Iron Farm:
- Gather the required materials:
You will need at least three villagers, three beds, building blocks, a zombie, lava, hoppers, and a chest. - Create a platform for villagers:
Build a small structure where the villagers will stay. Place the three beds inside so they can claim them. - Position a zombie nearby:
Place the zombie in a secure spot where villagers can see it but cannot be attacked. This fear mechanic triggers iron golem spawns. - Build the golem spawning platform:
Create a flat area above or next to the villagers where iron golems can appear. - Add a lava trap:
Place lava so newly spawned golems walk into it and are automatically eliminated. - Collect the drops:
Install hoppers under the platform that feed into a chest to automatically store the iron ingots.

Once built correctly, the iron farm will generate iron continuously without much player interaction. This makes it one of the most efficient ways to gather large amounts of iron in the game.
But every Minecraft player has their own strategy. How do you usually farm iron in Minecraft? Do you rely on mining, village raids, or do you know another method? Share your tips in the comments and stay tuned both VGNW and X for more guidelines.
