Kojima Productions has revealed the first teaser trailer and a new key visual for Death Stranding Isolations, the upcoming anime series set in the world of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. The announcement also introduced new details about the anime’s story and production team.
Unlike the original games, Death Stranding Isolations will tell a completely new story featuring an original cast of characters. Set in North America after the events surrounding the Chiral Network, the anime explores the lives of people struggling with isolation and the consequences of a world trying to reconnect.
The story follows a young girl who has grown accustomed to living alone following the Death Stranding. Other characters include an old man seeking to connect people, a female soldier caught in an endless cycle of conflict, and a boy struggling with the unfairness of his life.
Death Stranding Isolations is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Disney+ in 2027. The series will feature traditional hand-drawn 2D animation, with E&H production handling the animation.
The production team includes Hideo Kojima as executive producer, Takayuki Sano as director, Tow Ubukata as series composition and screenplay writer, and Ilya Kuvshinov as character designer. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
