PlayStation Plus is getting another price increase, as Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that subscription costs for new users will rise in select regions starting May 20.
Sony stated that the changes are being made due to “ongoing market conditions,” continuing the trend of subscription price increases seen across the gaming industry over the last few years.
According to the announcement, the updated prices for new subscribers will be:
- 1 Month: $10.99 / €9.99 / £7.99
- 3 Months: $27.99 / €27.99 / £21.99
Current subscribers generally won’t be affected immediately, unless their membership expires or they make changes to their existing plan. However, the company specifically noted that players in Türkiye and India will still be impacted by the new pricing structure.
The announcement has already started generating mixed reactions online, especially among players who feel subscription services are becoming increasingly expensive compared to previous years. Others argue that expanding game catalogs and rising development costs are pushing companies toward higher subscription prices overall.
This marks another adjustment for PlayStation Plus following previous global price increases that affected yearly membership plans in several regions.
With subscription services becoming a bigger part of the gaming industry, price changes like these are likely to remain a major topic among players moving forward. So, do you think PlayStation Plus still offers enough value after the latest price increase?
