Nintendo’s new console, the Switch 2, launched back in June, but Ubisoft had remained silent about whether its upcoming titles would support the platform. Now, a new leak has broken that silence, bringing both Nintendo and Ubisoft back into the spotlight. According to reports, Assassin’s Creed Shadows might not be limited to next-gen consoles and PC, it could also be heading to the Nintendo Switch 2.
Earlier leaks had revealed that Assassin’s Creed Shadows was planned for the new platform, though no release window was mentioned at the time.
According to newly shared information, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is rumored to launch for Switch 2 on December 5, 2025; almost the same time as its release on other platforms. Ubisoft’s strategy appears to be strengthening Switch 2’s lineup with a major AAA title right out of the gate.
While Ubisoft has yet to officially confirm the port, the December 5 date suggests the game could become one of the first major third-party releases on Nintendo’s next-gen console. Having a major Assassin’s Creed game among Switch 2’s early offerings could further establish Nintendo’s presence in the new generation.
