Riot Games is getting ready to bring its fast-paced tag-team fighter 2XKO to PS5, with the console release arriving in just a matter of weeks. After spending the past several months in PC testing, the game is finally expanding to a broader audience, marking Riot Games’ biggest step yet into the fighting-game scene.
2XKO is built around a 2v2 tag system that focuses on teamwork, support abilities, and high-tempo momentum shifts rather than the traditional 1-on-1 formula. Early PC players praised the smooth movement, accessible inputs, and strong character identity, giving Riot plenty of data to refine the game before its console launch.
The PS5 version will arrive as a fully free-to-play title, complete with cross-progression and cross-play at launch. Riot says the goal is to make 2XKO an “easy to enter, hard to master” competitive fighter; one that appeals both to casual players and the FGC (Fighting Game Community) looking for something new.
With League of Legends, Valorant, and Arcane already dominating their respective spaces, Riot expanding into console fighting games is a major development. And with 2XKO now just weeks away from hitting PlayStation, the studio is positioning the title as its next big push outside of core MOBA and tactical-shooter territory.
