The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 is a compact keyboard designed in a TKL (Tenkeyless) form factor. In other words, it doesn’t have a number pad on the right side. This not only saves space on your desk but also gives you more room for mouse movement, something especially appreciated by FPS gamers, who often prefer this style of keyboard.

Just like the full-size Apex Pro Gen 3, the keyboard’s body is made from a durable aluminum alloy. This gives it both a premium look and excellent durability. On the top right corner of the compact layout, you’ll find dedicated media controls and a volume wheel, allowing for quick and easy access during gaming or everyday use.

In addition to the media button and volume wheel, the keyboard also features an integrated OLED display. This screen can show in-game stats, Discord notifications, the music you’re listening to, and even your system’s temperature readings, all depending on how you configure it. Through the SteelSeries GG software, the display is fully customizable, with built-in apps that adapt based on the games you play. For example, in CS2 you can monitor your kill count, K/D ratio, and even your headshot percentage directly from the screen.

The Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 also includes a magnetic wrist rest in the box. With its soft-touch surface and ergonomic design, it provides a comfortable experience even during long sessions.
The keyboard supports both wired and wireless connectivity. In wireless mode, you have the option of using either a 2.4GHz connection or Bluetooth, making it easy to use with your desktop, laptop, or tablet, without any cable clutter.

The battery performance of the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 is also impressive. On a full charge, it offers up to 40 hours of use with RGB lighting turned on, and up to 150 hours with the lighting off. This means even if you spend the entire day at your computer, ike I do, you can go several days without needing to recharge. Personally, charging it twice a week before bed has been more than enough to keep it running wirelessly all week. The included high-quality braided USB-C cable allows for fast charging, and you can, of course, continue using the keyboard while it’s charging.

One of the standout features of the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 is its OmniPoint 3.0 adjustable mechanical switches. These switches let you fine-tune the actuation point of each key individually, from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm. This allows you to customize the key response to perfectly suit different game genres or your daily typing preferences.

The keyboard’s Rapid Trigger feature allows keys to reset and activate rapidly, providing a serious edge in fast-paced, reaction-heavy FPS games. It ensures faster key response times by detecting even the slightest finger movement, ideal for quick strafes and flicks. Meanwhile, Protection Mode helps prevent accidental key presses, offering a more controlled and focused gaming experience.

Another highlight is the Rapid Tap feature, which prioritizes the last key press during rapid sequences. This proves especially useful in games that require quick, precise inputs where every millisecond matters.

The OmniPoint 3.0 switches deliver a very satisfying and quiet typing experience. The sound profile is subtle, perfect for gamers or users who play or work late at night. With a 100 million keystroke lifespan, along with anti-ghosting and N-Key Rollover support, the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 is built for long-term reliability and seamless performance.

The SteelSeries GG software lets you customize every feature of the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 in fine detail. Through the software, you can easily adjust key sensitivity, manage RGB lighting, create macros, and control the OLED display content. Thanks to onboard memory, your customized profiles can be used seamlessly across different devices.
The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 stands out as a high-end keyboard that combines compactness with wireless convenience, without compromising on performance. With its OmniPoint 3.0 switches, long battery life, and customizable OLED screen, it’s an excellent choice for gamers and professional users alike.
