Hytale has finally released its first-ever PvP gameplay video, giving the community a real look at how combat actually plays inside the game. The footage focuses on fast duels, mobility, readable animations, and reaction-based fighting, showing a PvP experience built around timing and skill instead of chaos.
However, the team is very clear that this showcase represents a work-in-progress build. They confirmed that key systems like knockback, player/NPC collision and parts of blocking aren’t implemented yet, and many weapons are intentionally “OP” for testing. Nothing is balanced, some mechanics still feel “floaty,” and combat is continuing to evolve. Early Access is officially set for January 13, 2026, and a lot will improve before then.
Hypixel founder Simon shared additional transparency about the current state of PvP. He explained that health bars are currently rendering incorrectly, not scaling properly, and will receive a full rework to look cleaner and more minimal. Players will also be able to toggle health bars client-side, and servers will eventually get the option to control that too. He also noted that blocking systems aren’t done yet, but controls are already feeling solid and PvP is becoming more fun internally as development progresses. The team emphasized that they are aware of the issues and expect PvP to improve significantly over the coming months.
Even with these rough edges, this video marks a major milestone: it is the first real look at Hytale PvP moving, functioning, and being actively built forward. After years of waiting, the community finally gets to see how fights actually play out and that alone changes the conversation around Hytale in a big way.
