Bloodhunt will shut down its servers

Bloodhunt is reaching its final chapter. In the ever-competitive world of battle royale, where survival defines success, it’s not just new launches that make waves, sometimes it’s the farewells. Developer Sharkmob has made the difficult decision to end support for the game, marking the end of an ambitious experiment in vampire warfare.

Launched in April 2022, Bloodhunt let players wage a secret war among vampires in the streets of Prague. But after development support stopped in mid-2023 and the player base steadily declined, the studio confirmed that the servers will officially shut down on April 28, 2026.

“We’re deeply grateful to the community that’s shared this journey with us, but under current conditions, keeping the servers running is no longer sustainable.”

Launched in April 2022, Bloodhunt gave players a chance to experience the hidden war of vampires in the streets of Prague. But after development support ceased in mid-2023 and the active player count dwindled, the game’s end became inevitable.

This closure reignites debate about sustainability in the battle royale genre. When player interest fades, even big-budget projects seem destined to face the “continue or shut down” dilemma sooner rather than later. While some fans argue that Bloodhunt never reached its full potential, others believe the genre itself has already peaked.

So, is this decision a natural evolution of the battle royale scene or a sign that even the biggest titles are beginning to give in? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned to both X and VGNW for the latest updates.
