Battlefield 6 RedSec is taking the series into a brand-new era. This time, players won’t just fight in the middle of war; they’ll step into an entirely different kind of arena. EA’s latest reveal merges the franchise’s signature chaos with a free-to-play model, opening a fresh chapter for the series and for the genre itself.
Developed as part of the Battlefield 6 universe, RedSec has officially launched and is now available to all players. The game reimagines the traditional Battlefield experience in a battle royale format, completely free to play.
In RedSec, players drop into massive maps in four-person squads, completing objective-based missions and progressing through unique class systems. Alongside the 100-player battle royale mode, there’s also a fast-paced secondary mode called “Gauntlet,” which offers shorter, more intense skirmishes. Both modes retain Battlefield’s hallmark features, destructible environments and high-tempo combat.

Even more interestingly, Battlefield 6 and RedSec share a unified Battle Pass system. Players can transfer progress between the two games, unlocking cosmetics, rewards, and weapon skins through a single progression track. The newly launched “Rogue Ops” season introduces a new map and vehicles, marking the first step in this cross-game integration.
This move represents EA’s clearest step yet toward transforming Battlefield from a single game into a long-term connected ecosystem.
But the question remains: will Battlefield RedSec bring new energy to the battle royale scene or will it fade into the background as just another experiment in an overcrowded battlefield? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned to both X and VGNW for the latest updates.
